The Day 1 of the third test between India and England has been quite a successful one with Virat Kohli getting 97 and Ajinkya Rahane scoring 81 runs. However, the two got out and the 20-year-old youngster Rishabh Pant came on to bat. He started off with a six on the second ball itself and it was quite obvious England did not see that coming. He continued to bat even on the Day 2 but it was Stuart Broad’s late outswinger that knocked of his stumps.
As Rishabh Pant walking off the field, Stuart Broad went on sledging and nasty saying things to him. However, the youngster refrained from talking back and made way to the pavilion. But Broad’s behaviour was uncalled for. Watch the video below:
Even Sanjay Manjrekar in the commentary box slammed Broad’s behaviour and that it was not required. Broad’s behaviour also got the netizens annoyed and they posted several tweets taking pot-shots at the English pacer.
Mirzya Actress Saiyami Kher was annoyed with Broad’s behaviour. She took to Twitter and wrote, “Stuart Broad is talking a bit too much. @RishabPant777 maybe the 2nd innings you can remind him about the @YUVSTRONG12 6 sixes. #ENGvIND.”
“Stuart Broad was abusing new debutant Rishabh Pant who scored 24 Runs after taking his wicket this is a gentleman game..if you abuse us we can also abuse you very badly...so English players don't behave like dogs #ENGvIND,” read a post.
“I'm English and I'm embarrassed by that send off Stuart Broad gave a young Pant on debut. Maybe frustration after bowling well yesterday and not getting wickets. Hope he looks back and regretts it. Game needs a bit of spice but not like that. #ENGvIND #Broad #Pant,” read a post.
“They r actually dogs ✋ Be it their ex - captain aur present players ✋,” read another post.
“Every time I see Stuart Broad on a cricket field - I'm surprised he's not the one who got arrested for a brawl. #INDvENG,” read a tweet.
Talking about the Day 2, the Indian wrapped up their first innings with 329 runs. As of now, the English opening batsmen Alastair Cook and Keaton Jennings have begun to settle on the score of 21 and 20 respectively.
