India will be hosting Australia for two T20Is and five ODIs. The tour begins with first T20I on 24th Feb, 2019. The selectors will have to decide whether it will be feasible to include all three-wicket keepers-batsman(Dhoni, Karthik, Pant) in the squad or not. Vijay Shankar might have more chances than Khaleel Ahmed to enter possibly because of his better temperament.

The biggest puzzle which Prasad & Co. will have to solve is to decide on Pant vs Karthik vs Dhoni. They can either pick all three and continue with Dhoni & Karthik, or they can rule out one among Dhoni and Karthik, to include Pant in the side. Karthik is known for making good finishes in the past, who can forget the Nidahas Trophy final over against Bangladesh, but selectors will consider the latest scenario. On the other hand, MSD played a significant role in the victory against Australia on their soil. He was also awarded the Man of the Series. Speaking about Pant, who displayed good character in the Test Series against Aussies, was dropped in ODIs on ground that he must be rested. However, where was the rest, when the 21 years old young lad was called back to India to play for 'India A'.

The other mystery revolves around Khaleel Ahmed vs Vijay Shankar, however, if sources are to be believed, then Shankar might find the spot over Khaleel as the former has the nerve for bigger occasion.Apart from this Rohit Sharma could be rested for the coming series, KL Rahul has shown good form in the A series against England, so there stands a chance for him too.

Jasprit Bumrah was rested in the recently concluded ODI series, which can make his presence possible in the squad thereby leading to give Bhuvneshwar Kumar some rest. Selectors might also think about other pacers like Mohammed Siraj and Siddharth Kaul for standby option.Chahal can be given some break, which can create hope for all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja to make a comeback.
