The Indian fast pacer Bumrah gave a fantastic performance last night, where he focused on his strength and pitched the ball at right areas. The pitch at Visakhapatnam was very sluggish, and it was tough to smash the ball for big hits. 'We almost pulled out this game', says Jasprit Bumrah. The death over specialist bagged three-wicket by dismissing Aussie Captain Aaron Finch early in the Australian inning and then taking the wicket of debutant Peter Handscomb and Australian pacer Coulter-Nile in the deciding over of the match.
Glen Maxwell played a significant role in chasing the total by scoring a half-century, but post his dismissal by right arm leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, India came right back into the match by taking quick wickets in succession. Bumrah in his final over, bought India almost home; however, his colleague Umesh Yadav wasn't able to defend 14 runs in the last over. After the match Bumrah said that the game could have been comfortably in their hand if batsman would have more contributions, he also defended MS Dhoni by stating that his presence till the end gave India a fighting total.
Bumrah with his performance yesterday also became the first Indian bowler to bag 50 wickets in just 41 T20Is. India lost to Australia by three wickets; it will be interesting to see how the Men in Blue fights back on 27th Feb, 2019 for 2nd T20I to be played at Bengaluru.
