IND vs AFG Test 2018, Day 2 Highlights: Bowlers Help Indian Team Defeat Afghanistan in Two Days!

R Ashwin, R Jadeja, and U Yadav were all guns blazing earlier today, as they helped Team India secure a huge victory against the visiting Afghanistan side. Impressive bowling performances from the Indian camp and dismal outings for Afghan batsmen saw the Test match being wrapped in only 2 days.

R Ashwin picks up the last wicket for India. A loopy off-break delivery sees the stumps being uprooted, as the batsman, Wafadar, leaves the ball, and eventually loses his wicket. India secure victory in only two days!

Ravindra Jadeja scalps the wickets of Mujeeb Ur Rahman now. The batsman failed to connect and the mistimed shot is safely pouched by a diving Umesh Yadav running from the mid-on region. India on the brink of victory here!

Afghanistan is folding out here quickly! Ishant Sharma takes out Yamin Ahmadzai. A perfect set-up by a bowler who bowls him OUT! with a yorker after a barrage of short balls. India needs only 2 wickets to win now.

Rashid Khan makes way to the pavilion. The spinner gets bowled on 12 runs off 9 balls. Ravindra Jadeja strikes for the team. India is just three wickets away from victory. 

Afghanistan looks in deep trouble as Stanikzai gets out on 25 runs,  the team looks in trouble. New man Zazai also departed for 1. Jadeja bowled in a straight line and clipped the off-stump. 

After the wicket of Rahmat Shah, Shahidi and Stanikzai look to create a partnership for Afghanistan. Both batsmen are playing very carefully and intend to stick around as much as possible. 

Umesh Yadav gets his second wicket as Shahzad opens the face of his bat, gets edged and lands straight into the hands of Gabbar. Shahzad OUT on 13 runs. Umesh Yadav gets a plumb and gets the wicket of Mohammed Nabi who got OUT on 0.

Afghanistan gets a follow-on and comes to bat once again.  Yadav sends Shahzad packing as he bowled full and outside off. Dinesh Karthik made no mistake and Shahzad out on 13. 

The last over was quite an exciting one as  Mujeeb Ur Rahman hit a six and a couple of fours before getting out. With this Afghanistan got out on 109 runs. Stay tuned with us as Indian players come into bowl once again. 

Ashwin gets another wicket in form of Mohammad Nabi who played an impatient shot as he flicked it high in the air towards mid-wicket. Nabi OUT on 24 runs off 44 balls. Ishant Sharma makes no mistake to get this one. 

Yamin Ahmadzai is the next man to go. A carrom ball from Ashwin and poor shot selection from Yamin get the man into trouble. Ahmadzai OUT on 0. 

Ravindra Jadeja was introduced and he bowled short and wide. Rashid Khan flicks it to point and Umesh Yadav makes no mistake. Rashid Khan OUT on 7 runs. 

Ashwin strikes yet again as he bowls a perfect line and gets a plumb. Hashmatullah Shahidi on 11 runs. Afghanistan loses their 6 wickets. Rashid Khan the new man in for the team. 

Ashwin bowls his first over and gets the wicket of Asghar Stanikzai, Afghani captain. Ashwin bowled a perfect delivery which had everything in it, Flight, bounce and turn. Clips the bails and Asghar Stanikzai OUT for 11. With This, Ashwin surpasses Zaheer Khan by taking 312 test wickets for India. 

Umesh Yadav gets his 100th test wicket as he sends Rahmat packing on 14 as he gets a plumb. Ishant Sharma too gets another one as he bowls a perfect line and gets the middle stumps clipped. Afsar Zazai OUT on 6. Afghanistan loses 2 wickets in two consecutive overs. 

After having a great season in Sussex, Ishant Sharma is back and got his first wicket in the form of Javed Ahmadi as he bowled a good-length delivery and clipped the middle stump. Ahmadi OUT on 1 from 8 balls. 

So after India scored a mammoth total of 474 runs, Afghanistan came into the bat. In the fifth over they lost Mohammad Shahzad on 14 runs. Hardik Pandya was swift enough as the opening pair looked to grab a single. Shahzan OUT on 14. 

With the wicket of Ishant Sharma ( 8 runs of 13 balls ), India wraps up their first innings on 474 runs.  Sharma OUT on 8 runs. Umesh Yadav remains unbeaten on 26 runs and the two jointly contributed with 34 runs. 

Hardik Pandya once again proves that he is an amazing all-rounder as he chipped in with 71 runs off 94 balls. Wafadar bowled an inside off and the wicket-keeper made no mistake getting that one. Pandya OUT on 71.
