The Indians had a great outing at the Saurashtra Cricket Association, Rajkot on the Day 1 of the first test match between India and West Indies. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the hosts dominated the day and the batsmen put India in the driver’s seat. It was the 18-year old Prithvi Shaw who walked away with the limelight scoring his maiden ton on his debut. Chesteshwar Pujara also scored 86 runs however, Ajinkya Rahane got out before scoring a half-century. The day 2 would be quite crucial for the two batsmen. There wouldn’t be far too many changes in the pitch as the game progresses but it would be interesting to see if Virat and Pant get their 100s.
