The Indian bowlers have once again chipped in with wickets. Mohammed Shami stikes for the team claiming a couple of wickets for the team. Brathwaite and Powell make way to the pavilion quite early in the innings and troubles brewing for West Indies.
With blistering performances from the Indians, Virat Kohli and company have finally declared their first inning after they put up the mammoth total of 649 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Would be interesting to see how the rest of the day goes.
Ravindra Jadeja gets a maiden 100 and the local boy just can't stop smiling. First Prithvi Shaw, then the skipper Virat Kohli and now Ravindra Jadeja. He got his 100 from 132 balls hitting 5 fours and 5 sixes.
Umesh Yadav who was blazing guns with Ravindra Jadeja finally has walked back to the pavilion. Kraigg Brathwaite got his wicket as Yadav went to lift the ball in the air with a man waiting to grab on long-= off. Umesh Yadav OUT on 22.
Ravindra Jadeja brings up his Half- Century in style with a magnificent FOUR. Celebrates the same by wielding a sword. Consecutive fifties for him as he got one in Oval and now his home ground.
The Indians had a great outing at the Saurashtra Cricket Association, Rajkot on the Day 1 of the first test match between India and West Indies. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the hosts dominated the day and the batsmen put India in the driver’s seat. It was the 18-year old Prithvi Shaw who walked away with the limelight scoring his maiden ton on his debut. The Mumbai lad not only earned several praises for the way he batted after the departure of KL Rahul in the very first over, but also shattered quite too many records. Chesteshwar Pujara also scored 86 runs however, Ajinkya Rahane got out before scoring a half-century. As of now, we have Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant who are currently batting on 72 and 17 runs respectively and both would want to put up a solid total for India on the board. The day 2 would be quite crucial for the two batsmen. There wouldn’t be far too many changes in the pitch as the game progresses but it would be interesting to see if Virat and Pant get their 100s.
