Iceland Cricket of late has been making the headlines for all the wrong reasons ever since directing a jibe at Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan or conceding a record 110 runs in his nine overs against hosts England during their ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 encounter at Old Trafford. They were subject to heavy criticism on social media for the tweet with many cricketers hitting back at Iceland Cricket for insult. But it seems that Iceland Cricket has bounced back in style with an apologetic yet humorous tweet. Rashid Khan Trolled By Cricket Iceland For Most Expensive World Cup Bowling Spell; England Players Luke Wright & Stuart Broad Slam the Cricketing Body. Rashid Khan Trolled By Cricket Iceland For Most Expensive World Cup Bowling Spell; England Players Luke Wright & Stuart Broad Slam the Cricketing Body.

Rashid Khan was treated to a flurry of sixes during the ENG vs AFG game with especially England skipper Eoin Morgan smashing him for as many as seven sixes. Khan ended with the unfortunate record of becoming the most expensive leg-spinner in the history of ODI cricket. Using this as an opportunity to take a jibe at the 20-year-old cricketer, Iceland Cricket posted a hilarious tweet on its Twitter handle.

Check Out Iceland Cricket's Jibe At Rashid Khan:

The Iceland Cricket Twitter handle congratulated him for scoring Afghanistan’s first century of the 2019 World Cup and hitting 110 from 56 ball – this was the number of runs Rashid had conceded against England. But the post soon ran high and Iceland Cricket was trolled prompting an unconditional apology from them. But their first apology didn’t go down well with the fans, many of whom thought that Iceland Cricket was defending themselves.

Another Jibe At Rashid?

Soon the Twitter handle posted another apology but this time trolling themselves and showing respect towards Rashid. Reply to the trolls, who pointed out that they won’t last long against Rashid, Iceland Cricket posted that Rashid Khan won’t be able to take all 10 wickets against them because half of their batsman would be run-out in attempting to get back to the non-striker’s end when the canny leg-spinner is bowling.

Iceland Cricket Finally Apologise

Afghanistan has lost all five of their CWC 2019 matches so far with defeats coming against Australia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, South Africa and England. They have already lost wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Shahzad to injury. England beat Afghanistan by 150 runs.
