The 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20, the sixth edition of the ICC Women's World T20 tournament is all set to kick-off on November 9, Friday in West Indies. Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium (Antigua), the Darren Sammy Cricket Ground (Saint Lucia) and the Providence Stadium (Providence) will host the ICC Women’s World T20 matches. The league stage matches will be held at Antigua and Saint Lucia while the semifinal and final will take place at Antigua. The 2018 Women’s World T20 will feature a total of 23 matches, including the semis and final. ICC Women's World T20 2018 is going to be the first T20 tournament that uses the Umpire Decision Review System, with one review per side. The participating ten teams are divided into two groups of five, A and B. England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Bangladesh in Group A, while Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and Ireland are placed in Group B. Every team in the group plays all the other teams in a round-robin format. The top team in group A will play the runner-up in group B for a place in the final. Likewise, the top team in group B will play the runner-up in group A for the other final berth.
ICC Women's World T20 2018 fixtures for the tournament were confirmed in June 2018. The matches, as per Local Time, will start at 11:00 a.m, 04:00 p.m and 08:00 p.m. As per Indian Standard Time (IST), the matches will be played at 8:30 p.m, 01:30 a.m and 05:30 a.m. All the matches featuring Indian teams will have a start an 8:30 p.m start, which will suit the viewers in India. Australia have won the most number of ICC Women’s World T20 titles. The Southern Stars won three back to back titles in 2010, 2012 and 2014. England won the inaugural edition of the ICC Women’s World T20 in 2009. Windies won the last edition, which was held in India, by defeating Australia in the finals. New Zealand and England have finished as runners-up twice each.
