Women’s cricket teams from ten nations will be battling it out for supremacy in the ICC Women’s World T20 2018 scheduled to be held in West Indies. The Women’s version of the World T20 starts on November 09. This will be the sixth edition of the ICC Women’s World T20. Windies, the hosts, are the defending champions and will be looking to defend their title in front of the home crowd. While eight teams directly qualified for the 2018 ICC Women’s World T20, Bangladesh and Ireland made it to the tournament after finishing as finalists in the qualifying tournament. Bangladesh won that tourney. The ten teams have been divided into two groups, comprising of five teams each.
While England and Windies have won the ICC Women’s World T20 once each, Australia have won the tournament record three times. And that too back to back in 2010, 2012 and 2014. India, on the other hand, have never won the tournament and their best finish has been the semi-finals in 2009 and 2010 editions.
