While there are exciting matches on the field, the commentary team also plays a vital role in holding up the viewers and explaining the situations in a more understandable way. ICC has taken into consideration holding a ‘complete women oriented’ tournament and hence most part of the commentary team for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will have female commentators – including some of the past players and coaches of the teams. While fans are used to having male commentators for most of the cricket matches, many female cricketers have also stepped up and joined the commentary boxes delivering seamless narrations of the matches. On a similar base, ICC has chosen more female commentators for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.  Prominent names attached to women’s cricket including World Cup-winners Mel Jones, Lisa Sthalekar, Stacy Ann King, and Lydia Greenway along with former international stars Anjum Chopra and Katey Martin, as well as ex-India women’s head coach WV Raman will be a part of the team. England’s Greenway, who featured in the inaugural T20I and the first-ever Women’s T20 World Cup Final, was excited at the prospect of a historical event. Adding to the star power on display, former India and Pakistan skippers Mithali Raj and Sana Mir will also be part of the setup.
