The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is finally here after a lot of uncertainty over its hosts. UAE Will now host the mega tournament and it will start on October 3. The eighteen-day event will feature 10 teams separated into two groups. Fans are excited to witness another ICC mega event with exciting cricketing action and thrilling games. Just a year ago, Australia defeated South Africa to win their sixth title in eight editions. Scotland Women’s National Cricket Team and Sri Lanka Women’s National Cricket Team qualified via World Cup qualifier rounds while the original host, Bangladesh side was added to the mix. The other sides competing are Australia Women’s National Cricket Team, the England Women’s National Cricket Team, the India Women’s National Cricket Team, the South Africa Women’s National Cricket Team, the West Indies Women’s National Cricket Team and New Zealand Women’s National Cricket Team. The Pakistan Women’s National Cricket Team also made the cut due to a higher ranking in the ICC table. Each team selected a squad of 15 players before the tournament and was able to replace any injured players. Pakistan were the first to name their squad on 25 August 2024. Australia announced their side on next day while on 27th August, India and England announced their squads as well. The opening match of the tournament will be between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. While Bangladesh will take on Scotland on the same day.
