Along with the Men’s schedule, the ICC also announced the schedule for Women’s T20 World Cup 2020. Like men’s team, the women will also lock horns for the title in Australia. The warm-up matches will take place from 15 to 20 February in Adelaide and Brisbane, before the tournament action takes place across Sydney, Canberra, Perth and Melbourne. The finals of the tournament will be held on March 8, 2019, at Melbourne. India will play the opening match against Australia on February 21, 2020, at Spotless Stadium, Sydney. The ICC said the final presents a "groundbreaking opportunity" to surpass the current attendance record for a women's fixture for any sport of 90,185, set at the 1999 women's football World Cup final between the United States and China. For the first time, the women's and men's T20 World Cups will be held as standalone events in the same year, with the men's tournament being staged from Oct. 18 to Nov. 15, with the final also at the MCG. India is placed in Group A along with Australia, Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Group B consist of England and West Indies, South Africa, Pakistan and the other yet to be confirmed qualifying team.
