A total of 16 teams will be participating in the prestigious tournament – India, Australia, South Africa, England, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, New Zealand, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Japan and Scotland. India, New Zealand, Sri Lanka are Japan are placed in Group A, while last season’s runner-up Australia have been paired with England, West Indies and Nigeria. Pakistan, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Scotland have been placed in Group C, while hosts South Africa, Afghanistan, UAE and Canada form the final group of the tournament. Each team will play three matches in the league stage of 2020 U-19 Cricket World Cup with the top two from each group qualifying to the super league stage.
