The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 kicks-off on May 30 in England and Wales with hosts taking on South Africa in the opening match. However, before the tournament proper, the teams will play two warm-up matches from May 24 to 28. A total of ten warm-up matches will take place. India’s practice matches will be played on May 25 and 28 against New Zealand and Bangladesh respectively. Star Sports confirmed that the World Cup warm-up matches will be telecast live. Responding to a tweet by a fan, Star Sports wrote, “Well, 10 warm-up matches of ICC #CWC19 will be LIVE on our network, starting May 24, including both of Team India's games - against #NZ on May 25 and versus #BAN on May 28.”

On the opening day of warm-up matches, Pakistan will take on Afghanistan and Sri Lanka will face South Africa. All warm-up matches will have a 3:00 pm (IST) start time and will be day games.

Meanwhile, ICC has set May 23 as the deadline for teams to name their final 15 for the World Cup and post that no team will be allowed to make a change except for if a player is injured. This is the 12th edition of the World Cup and England hosts the tournament for the fifth time.
