The opening game will be played between England and South Africa at Kennington Oval, London. The ma.tch will begin at 10:30 am local time (3:00 pm IST). In India, The broadcast of the match will begin from 1:30 pm IST on Star Sports. It will be a day game. Eoin Morgan is leading the English team, while Faf du Plessis is South African Team captain. Meanwhile, the opening ceremony of the prestigious tournament was held at The Mall, a famous road in the city of London on Wednesday. The ceremony was hosted by former England cricketer Andrew Flintoff and comedian Paddy McGuinness. The ceremony began at 09:30 pm IST (Indian Standard Time), 04:00 GMT and 05:00 pm BST (British Standard Time).

The 12th edition of Cricket World Cup, is scheduled to begin from May 30 and will run until July 14. This time, a total of ten teams are participating in the ICC’s pinnacle event. The tournament will be played in a round robin format, where the participating teams will face each other. Top four teams will play semifinals.
