ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Prize Money: Winners to Receive Four Million Dollars, Two Million for Runners-up

The winner of upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 will receive a purse of $ 4 million, the highest prize money to date, apart from the trophy. The final of 10-team tournament will be held on July 14 at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground. Apart from it, ICC will be giving runners-up $2 million as well. Besides the awards for winner and runners-up, losing semifinalists will be awarded $ 800,000 each. There are prizes for each league match won and for teams that pass the league stage as well. So apart from pride and honour there is plenty to play for the teams.

In 2015 edition of the World Cup, the winner was handed $ 3,750,00 and runners-up received $ 17,50,000. The 46-day tournament begins from May 30 and will be held across 11 venues. Australia are the defending champions as they won the 2015 edition of the World Cup. Australia opens its campaign against Afghanistan on June 01. India will be the last team to open their World Cup and they will face South Africa on June 05 in Southampton.
