With Imran Khan all set to be Pakistan’s new Prime Minister, country’s cricket team’s captain Sarfraz Ahmed has said that Khan is a great leader. Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) emerged as the single largest party in the recent elections and is all set to form the government in the country. With wishes pouring in for Khan from all over the world, Sarfraz is the latest to join the bandwagon.
The wicketkeeper-batsman said that Pakistan will find success under the leadership of the 65-year-old. “Imran Khan is a great leader and it is exactly his brilliant leadership that allowed Pakistan to lift the World Cup in 1992 and I hope that, under his leadership, Pakistan can be successful,” said Sarfraz in an interview with Daily Express. Apart from Sarfraz, for Pakistan cricketer, Zaheer Abbas also congratulated Khan and hoped that he can help improve Pakistan’s economy. “I would like to congratulate Imran Khan on his victory. He has made the nation proud in the world of cricket and the world has praised him for his leadership skills. I wish him all the success in the future and hope that he can help improve Pakistan’s economy as well as other problems faced by the people of the country. I also hope that Pakistan cricket also benefits from him becoming the Prime Minister,” said Abbas.
Meanwhile, PTI looks set to lead the coalition government and if all goes well, Khan would be sworn in as the prime minister before August 14.
