Format and Rules
Deemed as the 'fastest format' of the game with every match finishing in just 45 minutes, the format for the Hong Kong Sixes tournament is a pretty unique one. Going by the name, the Hong Kong Sixes tournament features six players per team. Every team will bat and bowl for five overs each.
And these overs would need to be bowled by every player of the side, excluding the wicketkeeper. Also, if a team loses its fifth wicket before five overs, the last batsman who remained not out, will be on strike always with the fifth batter playing as a runner. If the last batsman is out, the innings ends. Wides and no-balls would result in the batting team getting two runs instead of one. The final match of Hong Kong Sixes will however have overs with eight balls instead of the traditional six. Did You Know Sachin Tendulkar Competed in Hong Kong Sixes Cricket Tournament?
