Several reports have stated that KL Rahul would not be retained by LSG going ahead into the IPL 2025 mega auction and that has many fans on social media to call for a reunion. The video shared by RCB on social media featured their coaching staff which includes Andy Flower and Mo Bobat talking about strategizing ahead of the IPL retentions. Eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot KL Rahul in one of the frames in the video, where head coach Andy Flower talked about having specific players for specific roles. If RCB do end up acquiring KL Rahul, it would be his third stint with the RCB, having played previously in 2013 and then in 2016 representing Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014 and 2015. Earlier, it was also reported that LSG have zeroed in on Nicholas Pooran as their top retention ahead of the deadline and would also retain the likes of Mayank Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi and the uncapped duo of Ayush Badoni and Mohsin Khan.
