Ever since appearing on the Koffee With Karan Season 6 show, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul have faced criticism from all corners for their misogynist remarks. The comments made on the show even led to the duo’s suspension from the Indian cricket team. Now, former Indian cricketer, Sunil Gavaskar has voiced his opinion regarding the controversy. And as per the legendary cricketer, the Pandya-Rahul KWK controversy has taken the sheen off India’s historic maiden Test series win in Australia.

Gavaskar in his column for Times of India wrote that the glory was pushed into the background after Pandya and Rahul’s controversy emerged. “The suspension of two players and the drama that it has caused has taken the sheen off the huge achievement of the team winning a Test series in Australia for the first time ever. The former captain also wrote about the Supreme Court hearing later this week. He was hopeful that the CoA will be dissolved and after an election board members for various posts will be elected.

“The next few days will surely be interesting indeed and it won’t be a surprise if the action on the field is overshadowed by that off the field. Hopefully, it will be sorted and dealt with sooner rather than later. This week also hopefully the Honourable Supreme Court will give a final decision on a matter that has stretched almost two and half years. Meanwhile, Pandya and Rahul continue to be under suspension and the BCCI recently named their replacements. While Vijay Shanker was added to India’s squad for Australia ODI series, young Shubman Gill was added to the Indian squad for the upcoming New Zealand tour.
