The dastardly act claimed the lives of 40 CRPF men. The Indian team wearing the camouflage caps has not gone down well with the Pakistan Cricket Board as they said that they would write to the ICC to take an action against the BCCI. PCB chairman Ehsan Mani suggesting that he has 'strongly taken up the matter with ICC' while expecting strong action against the Indian team. Since there were strong opinions about the act by the Indians, the journalists in Pakistan also asked Shahid Afridi about the same. ICC Says BCCI Had Sought Permission For Team India to Wear Camouflage Caps in Memory of Pulwama Martyrs.

After Multan Sultans won against the Lahore Qalandars in PSL 2019 tie, Afridi was addressing the press where he was asked this question. Meanwhile the Indian Cricket Council has responded to the PCB has said that the BCCI had sought permission of the ICC before donning the cap “The BCCI sought permission from the ICC to wear the caps as part of a fundraising drive and in memory of fallen soldiers who have died, which was granted," said the ICC to a news agency. The gesture was also aimed at encouraging fellow countrymen to donate to the National Defence Fund.
