For a few days now, the BCCI has on a hunt for a new coach after Ravi Shastri finishes his tenure with the Indian cricket team. Applications have been pouring in for the same to fill in the place of Ravi Shashtri. Virat Kohli addressed the press yesterday and was asked this question about the new coach to which he said that he would love Ravi Shastri to continue being the coach of the team. The timing of support did not go down well with renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle. The commentator later clarified that he was not specifically speaking about Virat Kohli’s statement. Virat Kohli Backs Ravi Shastri to Remain As Team India's Head Coach Ahead of West Indies Tour.
It all started with a tweet from Aakash Chopra who wished good luck to the applicants for the position of a coach. He also added that Virat has voiced his opinion already and one of the members from the Cricket Advisory Committee has also done the same. Harsha Bhogle not only retweeted the tweet but also voiced his opinion and said that the key influencers shouldn’t be stating their preference. "The CAC hasn't contacted me yet. If they want my opinion, I'll go and speak to them. With Ravi Bhai, we share a great camaraderie, and will definitely be very happy if he continues. But I haven't been contacted so far,” he had said.
It isn't a good idea, when applications are being invited, for key influencers to be stating their preference. https://t.co/Ooh6lLiFFZ

Virat Kohli had also mentioned that nobody from the CAC has asked him about his preference of the coach. Talking about Ravi Shastri, he has handled the reins of the coaching after Anil Kumble left the job back in 2017.
