Mumbai, January 15: In the wake of the controversial comments on women by Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya on talk-show, Koffee with Karan 6, the Khar Gymkhana on Monday revoked his honourary three-year membership. Pandya along with fellow cricketer KL Rahul, made misogynist comments on women which drew flak from all sections of the society. During the talk-show, Pandya opened up about his partying habits where he boasted about things like not asking the names of women at parties and watching them move on the dance among others. However, after criticism, he apologised for his comments.
Meanwhile, reacting to the controversy, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended both the players until further inquiry. The two cricketers have been suspended indefinitely and were asked to return home from Australia. The all-rounder also lost a sponsorship deal due to this controversy.
