After losing the second Test by 146 runs against Australia the Indian team reached Melbourne for the Boxing Day test. The team opted to stay away from the nets for a couple of days and rested before preparing for the upcoming challenge. In fact, it was the Indian cricket coach Ravi Shastri who had emphasised on not having the nets after the team reached Perth. The all-rounder looked completely comfortable bowling his spells and Ravi Shastri in the press conference had also mentioned that Pandya was 100% fit. Ahead of the third test, Ravi Shastri addressed the press and said that Ravichandran Ashwin will remain doubtful for the upcoming match. "As far as Ashwin is concerned, we are going to take a look and evaluate over the next 48 hours. Rohit Sharma looks good, he has made a very good improvement. But then again, we have to see how he pulls up tomorrow. He looks good as of today. Pandya is fit," International Cricket Council quoted the coach, as saying.
