It is an all-out politics going on as the voting day nears for the East Delhi constituency. Cricketer turned politician Gautam Gambhir is opening his political innings from this very seat and is up against AAP’s Atishi, who is contesting her first election as well, apart from Congress’ Arvinder Singh Lovely. Gambhir, apparently, rubbished the allegations and said that he was ready to withdraw his candidature if AAP proved its accusation. Gambhir took to Twitter and presented his side of the story. “I abhor your act of outraging a woman’s modesty @ArvindKejriwal and that too your own colleague. And all this for winning elections? Meanwhile, Gambhir’s former teammate and spinner Harbhajan Singh has jumped in support of the former cricketer. “I am shocked to note yesterday’s events involving @GautamGambhir. I know him well and he can never talk ill for any woman. Whether he wins or loses is another matter but the man is above all this,” Harbhajan tweeted.

Gambhir has now sent defamation notice to Atishi along with Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia & Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Twitterati have also come in support of the former cricketer and #IStandWithGambhir was one of the top trends on Friday.
