Indian cricketers took to social media to greet the nation on the occasion of Navratri. Indian cricketers Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and VVS Laxman took to Twitter to wish everyone on Navratri 2019. While Harbhajan shared a photo to greet everyone on the Hindu festival, Sehwag and Laxman shared some sweet messages. The nine-day festival of Navratri begins on September 29 (Sunday).
Virender Sehwag shared a photo of goddess Durga and shared a sincere message. “Roopam dehi, Jayam dehi , Yasho dehi, Dvisho jahi ! Wishing you fulfilment , love and joy this #Navratri”, the former Indian opener wrote. “May the auspicious occasion of Navratri bring us all Abundance of Happiness, Love, Peace, Health and Prosperity. Sehwag and Harbhajan had also tweeted to celebrate the birth anniversary of late Indian freedom fighter Bhagat Singh yesterday. Both the cricketers are quite active on social media. Sehwag and Laxman have retired from cricket and they are active commentators. Harbhajan has not announced his retirement from the game, however, he is also an active commentator.
Meanwhile, Navratri 2019 celebrations have begun in the country. People worship goddess Durga and perform folk dances like Garba and Dandiya Raas during the festival. Navratri also marks the beginning of winter months in India. Navratri is also celebrated to mark the changing of seasons i.e. when monsoons leaves and winter arrives.
