4/17 Against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Dharamshala

On a pitch where the KXIP batsmen posted 232 runs in the first innings, Chawla bowled an inspired spell and never the let RCB batsmen to get on top of the match in the 2011 edition of the tournament. He took four wickets in the match including Ab de Villiers and Mohammed Kaif. As a result, RCB were bundled out for 121 runs and lost the match by 111 runs.

4/32 Against Delhi Daredevils in Kolkata

After playing a brief but effective cameo of 22 runs, Chawla bowled a sensational spell against the Daredevils in IPL 2015 and put KKR on top. Defending a total of 171 runs, Chawla ran through Delhi's batting line-up and dismissed the likes of JP Duminy, Kedar Jadhav and Yuvraj Singh. His four-wicket haul restricted the opposition to 158 runs and Kolkata registered a 13-run victory.

3/18 Against Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata

Batting first, KXIP could only manage 134 runs against KKR in IPL 2012. With batsmen like Gautam Gambhir, Yusuf Pathan and Shakib Al Hasan in the line-up, the chase seemed a bread and butter task for the Knight Riders. However, Chawla displayed a brilliant show of spin bowling and dried up the run-flow. He also took wickets at regular intervals to tighten Punjab's grip in the match. His effort proved to be fruitful as KKR fell two runs short of the target and Punjab registered a victory.

Chawla will like to put on some more these brilliant performances in the forthcoming IPL season in order to guide CSK to their fourth title. Also, Chennai will play half of their matches in the Chepauk Stadium where the deck is known to favour the spinners and in those conditions, the leggie can certainly give many batsmen a run for their money.
