Lasith Malinga, who recently retired ODI cricket, turned 36 on Wednesday, August 28, 2019. The Sri Lanka bowler is considered as one of the greatest pacers to play cricket. Malinga, popular with the nickname 'Slinga Malinga', has shown some great performances for his nation in Test, ODI and T20 cricket. Malinga has a beautiful wife Tanya Parera and the couple looks very cute together. Malinga made his international debut with a Test match against Australia on July 1, 2004. In July 2004, he also made his ODI debut for Sri Lanka in a match against UAE. He recently retired from ODI cricket after a match against Bangladesh on July 23, 2019. In April 2011, Malinga had brought down the curtains on his Test career. He is the only player to take three hat-tricks in ODIs and two hat-tricks in World Cup tournaments.

Malinga played 30 Test matches, taking 101 wickets. In his ODI career, the death over specialist took 338 wickets in 226 matches. His best figures in ODI is 6/38. In IPL tournaments, he has 170 wickets to his name in 122 matches. He will be leading the Sri Lanka team in upcoming T20s against New Zealand. Best of luck Malinga and Happy Birthday once again!
