Irfan Pathan, former Indian cricketer and swing specialist, celebrates his birthday on Sunday (October 27). The former Indian bowler turns 35 years old. After his debut for the Indian team at the young age of 19, Pathan became one of the most specialist bowlers for India. At one point of time, he was the leading bowler for Team India. Pathan was a part of ICC T20 World Cup 2007 and was named player of the match in the India vs Pakistan final, which India won by 5 runs. Pathan holds the record of bagging a hat-trick in the first over of a Test match. He took it during India vs Pakistan Test match in Karachi in 2006.   1. Irfan Pathan’s nickname is Guddu.

  2. While playing for India under 19 team in 2003, Pathan took 9 wickets for 16 runs in a match against Bangladesh.

  3. Pathan has launched a cricket academy along with his brother Yusuf Pathan. Named Cricket Academy Of Pathans, it also has Kapil Dev as chief mentors.

  4. In 2005, Pathan rose to no. 2 in ICC's ODI rankings for all-rounders and was also in the top five test rankings.

  5. In 2015, Pathan participated in popular dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, where he entertained everyone with his dancing.

During his international career from 2003 to 2012, Pathan played 29 Tests and 120 ODIs. He took 100 wickets in Tests and 173 wickets in wickets. With his good batting ability, the left-handed batsman also hit one Test century along with 7 fifties in Tests ad 5 half-centuries in ODIs. Currently, he is an active commentator.
