Rashid Khan celebrated his 21st birthday. The Afghanistan skipper was wished by a host of international cricketers, including his teammate Mohammad Nabi. Among those well-wishers of the top-ranked T20I bowler, was Australian cricketer David Warner, who had a special wish for his teammate from Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Warner in the past has always reserved special wished for his Afghan friend and this year was no different. Rashid recently became the youngest captain to lead an international team in Test cricket when he led Afghanistan against Bangladesh in a one-off Test match. Afghanistan even went on to register a historic victory in the Test with Rashid leading them from the front both with the ball and bat in hands. The spin wizard is celebrating his 21st birthday on September 20, 2019 (Wednesday). He took 11 wickets in the game and even hit a half-century as Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by 224 runs. Rashid was adjudged Man of the Match (MoM) for his performance.

But his special day may have been foiled by his Sunrisers teammate and former captain Warner, who in his wish for the Afghan cricketers posted a status but may have accidentally revealed the player’s real age. “Happy 25th birthday” Warner posted in his Instagram story while wishing Rashid, who was born on this day in 1988. Warner might have just enjoyed a short banter with the birthday boy and may have been light-hearted but it once again throws the light on Rashid’s age, which has brought discontentment in the minds of many people in the past.
