Margaon, January 13: Former Goa Ranji Trophy cricketer Rajesh Ghodge suffered a heart attack and passed away on Sunday at the age of 47 years. The incident occurred at 3 pm during a local tournament at the Rajendra Prasad Stadium in Margao. During the time of the incident, Ghodge was at non-strikers end after scoring 31 runs. According to sources, after Ghodge collapsed he was rushed to nearby ESI hospital. According to the data in ESPN Cricinfo, Ghodge, who made his debut in 1990, played two first-class matches scoring 76 runs. He also played eight List A matches for Goa, where, he scored 115 runs in 8 innings with one half-century. The last time he played for Goa was in 2005 against Kerala.
