Australiaā€™s Glenn Maxwell is dealing with allegations of match-fixing after Al-Jazeera claimed three players from the Kangarooā€™s side may be involved in the scam. Hereā€™s another incident that happened during the IPL 2017 which the Anti-Corruptions Bureau might not be aware of. As per Mumbai Mirror, the cricketer had breached one of the protocols putting his life in danger. This incident happened in Rajkot where he left the hotel without informing the team manager, local liaison officer and also the integrity officer

His team Kinga XI Punjab and Gujarat Lions had gone for a party which was organised by the hosts. Maxwell was completely sloshed and on his way back opted to cycle his way back to the hotel. Needless to say that he was completely out of control and fell off the bicycle. It was highly possible that he could have run-over by other vehicles. However, a local Samaritan recognised and helped him back to the hotel. The security officials too returned the cycle to the owner in the resort.

A BCCI official on the condition of anonymity spoke about the incident and said, ā€œWe chose not to make the incident public because it could have led to a lot of controversies. So we donā€™t know what kind of information he had given to the ACU. On this occasion, Maxwell did not even inform his team manager, leave aside the integrity officer or security staff. Ideally, he should not have gone out because it was a security risk. If he still had to go, he should have gone with the security cover. But Maxwell chose to go alone, and come back alone in an inebriated state.ā€ However, the Cricket Australia denied to comment about the same and wrote, ā€œWe don't provide comment on other member boards' process or protocols or media speculation."
