Not many players would dare to score their first runs in Test cricket by hitting a six, let alone do it in reality. However, Rishabh Pant is an exception to it. The young wicket-keeper batsman did the same when he made his Test debut against England earlier this year. The explosive left-handed batsman has built a huge fan base already, and it seems Glenn Maxwell is the latest addition to it.

Speaking to cricket.com.au, Glenn Maxwell said, “He's an amazing talent. We have only seen him scratch the surface regarding his ability. I've been glued to my TV every time he's come out to bat ... if he does get going, it's pretty good to watch.”  Virat Kohli-led India Takes Big Break Before Crucial Boxing Day Test Match! Heaping more praise on Rishabh Pant said, “I think he was a gymnast growing up, so he's extremely flexible. He can manipulate his body into different positions to hit the ball.”

Rishabh Pant has played 7 Test matches for India so far. However, it is his strike rate and the number of fours and sixes that has he hit in the short period. Pant has scored 465 runs in his career so far at an impressive strike rate of 73.22. Rishabh Pant hasn’t been able to fire with the bat in the ongoing Test series versus Australia. However, his form behind the stumps has been fantastic. In the first Test match at the Adelaide Oval, Pant took 11 catches behind the stumps – equalling England’s Jack Russell, and South Africa’s AB de Villiers. It will be exciting to see for the fans to see, Pant the batsman fire in the remaining Tests.

India will lock horns with Australia in the third Test match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, starting December 26. With the series score at level (1-1), it will be interesting to see which team gets the better of other and gain an unassailable lead in the 4-match series.
