Andre Russell suffered hard luck in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament after he had to leave the tournament mid-way due to an injury ahead of India vs West Indies ICC CWC 2019 match. He received sincere messages from fellow West Indies teammates and ICC to recover soon. Russell has been replaced by Sunil Ambris.

Andre Russell suffered hard luck in ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019  after he had to leave the tournament mid-way due to an injury. The 31-year-old cricketer suffered a knee injury due to which he was replaced by Sunil Ambris. As the West Indian all-rounder is being treated in the hospital, he received some sincere messages from fellow teammates.

While posting his photo on Instagram from Oaklands Hospital in the United Kingdom, Russell informed everyone that he had a successful surgery and thanked everyone for their kind wishes. "Surgery was a success thanks for the kind words from everyone!" he captioned the photo. West Indies cricketers Chris Gayle, Carlos Brathwaite, Darren Sammy among others wished Russell for a quick recovery with some sweet messages. Russell, who had a spectacular journey with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Indian Premier League 2019, could not recreate his magic while playing for West Indies in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. In four matches he played for West Indies in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, he could only bag four wickets. As he faced issues with his knee injury, he had to end his journey in the ongoing global cricket tournament.
