Needless to say that the former Indian cricketer as extremely happy with the Padma honour and thanked the President for the honour. In another tweet, Gambhir posted a picture with his wife and had a witty caption which caught the attention of the netizens. However, Natasha also had a befitting reply to the troll. Trolling his wife, Gambhir wrote, “Back to reality with a LOUD thuddddddd!!!! Padmashri with his Sri Sri Srimati @natashagambhir2 Don’t worry about the तोप in the background, I get fired everyday at home #PADMASHRIGAUTAMGAMBHIR #PadmaShriAward #Padmashree.” The netizens went ROFL with the tweet and couldn’t stop laughing.

Apart from Gambhir, football captain Sunil Chhetri, mountaineer Bachendra Pal, basketball player Prashanti Singh were honoured. Total 94 personalities were selected for Padma Shri award. Meanwhile, the second highest civilian award, Padma Vibhushan was given to Teejan Bai, an exponent of Pandavani, a traditional performing art. Other Padma Vishushan Awardees were Shri Ismail Omar Guelleh (Foreigner) Shri Anilkumar Manibhai Naik and Shri Balwant Moreshwar Purandare. ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan and Odisha tea seller D Prakash Rao were among the recipients of the honour.
