Gautam Gambhir who recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket took to Twitter and slammed the BCCI and Cricket Association of Bengal, who gave the opportunity to Azhar to do the honours. “India may have won today at Eden but I am sorry @bcci, CoA &CAB lost. Looks like the No Tolerance Policy against Corrupt takes a leave on Sundays! I know he was allowed to contest HCA polls but then this is shocking....The bell is ringing, hope the powers that be are listening,” read Gambhir’s tweet. Gautam Gambhir still stands by his tweet and while speaking to a website he said that Azhar’s ban was only removed but wasn’t given a clean chit by the CBI. Gambhir also went on to say that it was up to people to allow Azharuddin to pursue his political career, but the 55-year-old did not have any place in his life. “Okay, you've allowed him to contest elections, that's fine, that's up to the country to elect him, whether they want him as a Member of Parliament or not. But I've absolutely and thoroughly believed in it, and that is the kind of policy that I've had. If someone has done something wrong, especially of this sort, he's got no place in my life and I'm going to stand by what I believe, by what I said,” Gambhir added.
