Gautam Gambhir Reacts to Shahid Afridi’s Tweet on Kashmir

Afridi and Gambhir have been at loggerheads before as well and have often slammed each other.

Afridi in his tweet, appealed the international community to "stop this bloodshed” in Kashmir.

Out of favour Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir has reacted sharply to Shahid Afridi’s tweet on Kashmir. The former Pakistan captain, on Tuesday, took to Twitter and expressed sympathy with 13 militants who were shot down by by the Indian forces in Kashmir few days back. Afridi in his tweet, appealed the international community to "stop this bloodshed” in Kashmir. Apparently, Afridi’s tweet did not go well with Indian fans and stirred a controversy. “Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren't they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?,” Afridi had tweeted.

Meanwhile, Delhi Daredevils captain Gambhir, who is known to share bitter relationship with Afridi, took to Twitter as well and slammed Afridi for his remarks. Taking a dig at Afridi, Gambhir tweeted: “Media called me for reaction on @SAfridiOfficial tweet on OUR Kashmir & @UN. What’s there to say? Afridi is only looking for @UN which in his retarded dictionary means “UNDER NINTEEN” his age bracket. Media can relax, @SAfridiOfficial is celebrating a dismissal off a no- ball!!!”

Afridi and Gambhir have been at loggerheads before as well and have often slammed each other. But this time the issue is serious.

This is not the first time, Afridi evoked a controversy with his remarks over Kashmir. During a World T20 match in Mohali, the Pakistan cricketer, when asked about the support from the crowd in Mohali, responded by saying, "a lot of people are here from Kashmir”.
