For a long time now, Sourav Ganguly and Ravi Shastri have been at loggerheads and never leave a single opportunity to take a jibe at each other. Now, Gautam Gambhir too has joined the bandwagon and went on to slam the Indian coach saying Ravi Shastri has achieved nothing great in his career. The international cricketer who announced retirement went on to slam Ravi Shastri for his comment made by the Indian coach earlier during England tour. Gambhir targeted Shastri and exclaimed that the Indian coach neither achieved anything great in his career nor as an Indian coach. “I don't know what Shastri has achieved in his career," said Gambhir demeaning the stature of the former Indian skipper. Gambhir has been making fiery statements about many people ever since his retirement. Yesterday, Gambhir spoke elaborately about his tweet on Mohammad Azharuddin which was posted earlier in November. He went on to lash out at the BCCI and Cricket Association of Bengal for allowing the tainted cricketer to ring the bell.
He said, “Only his ban was removed and still if you go through the report, it says that yes, there's been something wrong that has happened, which he has done wrong. Okay, you've allowed him to contest elections, that's fine, that's up to the country to elect him, whether they want him as a Member of Parliament or not.
He also went on to say that Azhar has no place in his life whatsoever. “But I've absolutely and thoroughly believed in it, and that is the kind of policy that I've had. If someone has done something wrong, especially of this sort, he's got no place in my life and I'm going to stand by what I believe, by what I said.”
