The recently concluded Nidahas Trophy 2018, which included hosts Sri Lanka, India, and Bangladesh apart from Dinesh Karthik’s last-ball six in the final will be known for ‘Nagin dance’. During the tournament, we saw Bangladesh players doing the ‘Nagin dance’. After Bangladesh’s first game against Sri Lanka Mushfiqur Rahim as part of the celebration did the ‘Nagin dance’. And then the whole team performed the ‘Nagin dance’ in their second game against Sri Lanka, which Bangladesh won as well to qualify for the final. Even some of the Sri Lankan players did ‘Nagin dance’ while celebrating just to mock the Bangladeshi players. However, following the defeat in the final against India, Bangladesh were trolled mercilessly for their awkward celebratory style. Even Sri Lankan crowd in unison did the ‘Nagin dance’ after India’s win.
Not just Sri Lankan fans, but Indian cricket team fans took to Twitter to make fun of the ‘Nagin dance’ as well. Former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar also joined the bandwagon and was seen performing the ‘Nagin dance’ moves in the commentary box.
However, discarded Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh instead of using ‘Nagin dance’ came up with ‘Bichuu dance’ to troll the Bangladesh players. “After Nagin dance's success we present you this bichuu dance.. Enjoy ur weekend guys,” tweeted Harbhajan with a video, which is now viral.

Interestingly, the ‘Nagin dance’ or ‘snake dance’ is attributed to Bangladesh spinner Nazmul Islam. During Sri Lanka’s tour of Bangladesh earlier this year, Nazmul after picking Upul Tharanga did the ‘Nagin dance’. The spinner is known to celebrate like this after picking a wicket in domestic cricket. He is also known as ‘Cobra Apu’, thanks to his weird celebrations.
