Bangladesh have named their 15-man squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2018 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The 2018 Asia Cup is scheduled to start from September 15 onwards. Ahead of the tournament, Bangladesh have received a boost as all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been declared fit to take. Apart from Shakib, Mohammad Mithun and Ariful Haque have been added to the squad as well. Bangladesh have left out batsmen, Anamul Haque and Sabbir Rahman. The duo was part of Bangladesh's last one-day international series in the Windies. Mithun, who is a top-order batsman, has featured in just three ODIs. On the other hand, Ariful Haque is yet to make his ODI debut. He, however, has played six Twenty20 Internationals.

Fast bowler Masrafe Mortaza will lead the side while Shakib has been named his deputy. The squad features regular players like Tamim Iqbal, Litton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Mustafizur Rahman and Rubel Hossain.

Bangladesh, placed in Group B, open their Asia Cup 2018 campaign against Sri Lanka on September 15 at the Dubai International Stadium. They then play Afghanistan on 20 September before the Super Four stage.

Group A, on the other, India, Pakistan and the winner of the ongoing Asia Cup Qualifier 2018. The final of Asia Cup 2018 will be played on 28 September.
