Pakistan huffed-and-puffed to beat Afghanistan by three wickets in match no 36 of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at the Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds on Saturday. The tense victory kept Pakistan alive in the tournament, while Afghanistan, who have already been knocked out, remained winless after eight matches in the competition. But social media wasn't kind to Pakistan despite their nerve-cracking victory over their Asian rivals. Pakistan vs Afghanistan, ICC CWC 2019 Match Highlights.
The win took Pakistan to the fourth position for the first time in the points table. They have nine points from eight games and toppled England to jump to fourth. Afghanistan continued to remain at the bottom of the standings without any point and without a single win so far after eight matches.
They came very close to beating their three Asian rivals but failed to cross the line all of those games. Against Pakistan, they needed to defend 15 runs from two overs, with one from Rashid Khan. But misfields coupled with poor lengths helped Pakistan snatching the win from jaws of defeats. Take a look at some of the tweets by frustrated Pakistan fans:

Here Goes Afghanistan!!
Pak win.
Well played Afghanistan.
Had it not been Asghar Afghan doling out tips and acting like captain but making effort to catch the ball, doing well on field, the match would have been won by Afghanistan.#AFGvPAK #PAKvAFG pic.twitter.com/0H6rFW6SIV

Earlier, opting to bat first after winning the toss, Afghanistan were reduced to 57/3 in the 12th over before former captain Asghar Afghan (42) and Najibullah Zadran engaged in a 64-run partnership to help their side put up 227/9 on board at the end of 50 overs.
In reply, Pakistan were off to a worse start with Mujeeb Ur Rahman sending back opener Fakhar Zaman in only the second delivery of the innings. But Imam-ul-Haq (36) and Babar Azam (45) steadied the ship before Nabi removed both in the space of two overs. Imad Wasim
