Rohit Sharma scored a century in both the innings in the first test match between India and South Africa which is currently underway at the VDCA Stadium in Vishakhapatnam. In the first innings, the Mumbai batsman scored 176 runs in the first innings and a century in the second one. After the Mumbai batsman got out after scoring a hundred, Faf Du Plessis, Dean Elgar and Theunis de Bruyn ran up to the Indian opener and congratulated him for the feat. The official account of the BCCI shared the video on their social media handle. In the last inning, it was Faf Du Plessis who had congratulated both Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma for scoring 215 and 176 runs respectively. Rohit even went on to own the record of slamming most number of sixes in a Test match by an Indian. The video of Sharma being congratulated by the South African players was shared on social media by the official page of the BCCI.

The Indian team went on to make 323 runs on the board and had a lead of 391 runs. The South African team already lost one wicket on the score of 4. Dean Elgar who had slammed a century in the first inning was the one who made way to the pavilion on the score of two runs. Aiden Markram and Theunis de Bruyn are currently batting for the team and would be hoping to make as many runs possible today.
