After losing eight tosses in a row, Faf du Plessis decided to bring up a proxy captain to Temba Bavuma for the toss in the third Test between India vs South Africa which is currently underway at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi. But sadly fortunes didn’t change for the visiting team and they lost their ninth consecutive toss. Smith labelled the move as a pathetic one and something that he doesn’t enjoy watching. "It was a quirky moment but for me, it was a little bit pathetic," Smith told Star Sports as a commentator on Day 1 of the third Test in Ranchi on Saturday. "It just shows the mindset of the South African side. I didn't enjoy seeing that. I would rather see the South Africa captain stand there, own his position." For now, have a look at the toss below:

Talking about the game it was the bowlers from the visiting side who dominated the first session of the day. Kagiso Rabada plucked a couple of wickets and Anrich Nortje snapped one. Rabada got the wickets of Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara. Nortje got the wicket of Virat Kohli on the score of 12 runs. But then in the second session, Indian batsmen made a comeback as Rohit Sharma is inching closer to his century and Ajinkya Rahane is about to ring his half-century.
