New Zealand Win By 9 Wickets | ENG vs NZ Highlights of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: Devon Conway-Rachin Ravindra Shine in Dominating Victory in Tournament Opener

Thats It!  What a performance from New Zealand! Who would have expected it? First managing to restrict England to a middling total despite not having Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson and then came that mammoth partnership from Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra. Both scored a century and wrapped up the chase in just 36.2 overs. For England, that's a proper hammering. 

Another century and this time it is from Rachin Ravindra who gets his maiden ODI century in a style. He has completely sent the England bowling into pandemonium with his eye-catching strokes and also reached three-figure mark in just 82 deliveries. 

Thats's It! Devon Conway is the first one to reach the three figures. First hundred of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. He reaches the milestone injust 83 deliveries, using all his experience of playing in the IPL in the Indian conditions. England had no answers for him. 

Exceptional batting from Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway. They have completely pinned down England and right now Jos Buttler's team have no answers. Ravindra completed his half-century first and now Conway has joined him as will. New Zealand are way ahead in the game. 

Rachin Ravindra continues to be explosive. Dispatches Moeen Ali for a huge six and completes his half-century. Has looked comfortable facing every bowler till now, even during playing attacking strokes. 

Some fireworks in the powerplay from Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway as the dup take on the English bowlers racing to a 80 run partnership in no time. Jos Buttler seems to be under tremendous pressure with none of his bowling changed working. 

Out! England needed an early wicket with the new ball and they get it from Sam Curran. Not a wicket taking ball and Will Young ends up getting strangled down leg to it. First wicket for Sam in the competition. 

A good last over for England with 14 runs coming off James Neesham and they have successfully set a competitive target of 283 on board which seemed like a little two paced deck with some ball gripping and holding on. New Zealand would consider themselves doing a good job without the services of Lockie Ferguson and a specialist second spinner. 

Out! Mitchell Santner picks up another with his bag full of tricks. Teases Chris Woakes and gets him holed out in the deep. England lower middle order tumbling a little as New Zealand keeps chipping. 

Out! A big blow from Glenn Phillips. Joe Root tries to take on his bowling with a reverse sweep but the ball is too full for it, ends up crashing into the stumps. England need to be smart from here on to set up a competitive total.

OUT! One more wicket for New Zealand just as this partnership was looking good for England. And it is that of English captain Jos Buttler who can really turn it on in the death overs! Buttler tried to guide the ball towards third man but instead could only edge to his counterpart Tom Latham behind the stumps off Matt Henry's bowling. A big wicket this in the context of this match! FIFTY! What a knock it has been from Joe Root. The right-hander has used all his experience in churning out a fighting half-century, the first of this CWC 2023. He would look to continue and get a big one, taking England to a strong total. 

England have lost more wickets than they would have liked at this stage but would have a lot of hope with two of their best players in Joe Root and Jos Buttler in the middle. These two need to carry on and bat till the end to take England to a strong total here. 

OUT! And one more wicket and this time, it is the part-time spin of Glenn Phillips who has worked for New Zealand. Moeen Ali, through the shot early, missed the ball completely as it crashed into the stumps! OUT! Four. Four, Six and out for Harry Brook! He would be absolutely livid with this as he picked out the only man in the deep. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow have joined forces in the middle after Dawid Malan's dismissal. Both batters have the ability to play big knocks and would want to do just that, putting pressure on the New Zealand bowlers.

It has been quite the start to this match. England blasted 12 runs off the first over but New Zealand have somewhat managed to pull things back. England would want these two players to continue and bat aggressively while New Zealand are in the lookout for a wicket.
