England Record Highest Team Total in ODIs Against Australia

England shattered their own record to register the highest team total in One-Day Internationals (ODIs). Playing in the third ODI against Australia at Nottingham, England finished with 481 for six in their allotted 50 overs. With it, the hosts bettered their own record of 444 for three set against Pakistan at the same ground in 2016. Jonny Bairstow and Alex Hales recorded centuries each as England toyed with the Australian bowling attack.
Put to bat, England got off to a flying start with openers Jason Roy and Bairstow putting up a century stand. The duo were separated in the 20th over when Roy was run-out on an individual score of 82. Both Bairstow and Hales faced 92 deliveries and scored 139 and 147 runs respectively. Interestingly, both smashed five sixes during their stay. Towards the end, Eoin Morgan upped the ante as she slammed 30-ball 67 to take England past their previous record.
Spinner Ashton Agar proved to be the least expensive of the Australian bowlers as he gave away 70 runs from his seven overs. Jhye Richardson picked three wickets and gave away 92 runs from his quota of ten overs.
Meanwhile, England are leading the five-match ODI series 2-0 and will look to seal it in the fixture. The home side won the opening ODI by three runs and the second game by 38 runs.
