Meanwhile, Australia opted to bat first against England in the practice match. The defending champions lost skipper Aaron Finch early on and then David Warner and Shaun Marsh added 62 runs for the second wicket.
England then struck twice quickly with Liam Plunkett removing both Warner and Marsh. Warner scored 43 off 55 balls while Marsh chipped in with 30 off 44 balls. At the time of writing this story, Australia had lost three wickets and Steven Smith and Usman Khawaja were at the crease.
