England Eliminates Defending Champion Australia From CWC 2019; Netizens React as Cricket World Cup Will Have a New Winner

The CWC 2019 will have a new winner this season as England has defeated defending champions Australia from the mega event. Which means England will now play against New Zealand on Sunday at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. England defeated Australia comprehensively by eight wickets.

The CWC 2019 will have a new winner this season as England has defeated defending champions Australia from the mega event. Which means England will now play against New Zealand on Sunday at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. England defeated Australia comprehensively by eight wickets. It was their all-round performance that helped the team win the game. England brought up the win with a stunning four by Eoin Morgan who took the team to the finishing line along with Joe Root. After winning the toss, England elected to bat first and they put up 223 runs on the board. It was quite a low scoring game as only Steve Smith was seen fighting the English pace batteries.  Smith scored 85 runs as wickets kept falling one after the other. The home team started on a high note and lost only a couple of wickets to get to the total. The netizens posted tweets and praised them for their all-round performance.

This is the first time that Australia has lost in the semi-finals of the Cricket World Cup. Also, Australia remains winless across formats in Edgbaston since 2002. On the other hand, England is unbeaten in Edgbaston in their last 11 games in T20, ODI and Test.
