England may seem down and out at the moment after their loss in the Third Test match against India. And with first-choice wicket-keeper, Jonny Bairstow battling the finger-injury that he sustained during the match, has worsened the situation. However, skipper Joe Root won’t be press the panic button yet, as England have called in James Vince as his cover.

A week before the fourth Test match begins, England has flown in middle-order batsman, James Vince, as Bairstow's participation in the match remains a humdinger, still. After a freak injury that Bairstow sustained during the third test match while keeping to James Anderson’s bowling.

Vince has been called on the basis of terrific form in domestic cricket. He has been in excellent form for Hampshire in County cricket. In the ongoing Specsaver Championship, Vince has scored 847 runs at the average of 56.46 runs.

England Squad: Joe Root (c), Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Stuart Broad, Jos Buttler, Alastair Cook, Sam Curran, Keaton Jennings, Ollie Pope, Adil Rashid, Ben Stokes, James Vince, Chris Woakes

So far, nothing is official and it depends on how Bairstow recuperates from his injury. As things stand currently, Buttler is set to remain behind stumps, while Bairstow may still play as a specialist batsman. Vince, for that matter, will only play if Bairstow fails to recover before the start of the Test match.
