Tim Paine has rated England's Jos Buttler as the "best white-ball wicketkeeper-batsman in the world" and the Australian captain even went on to hail the Englishman as better than former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Paine’s remarks came after Buttler single-handedly rescued England from a precarious position with an unbeaten century, to help the home side complete their first 5-0 whitewash of Australia.

Chasing a paltry target of 206, Buttler bailed his side out of trouble with 110 off 122 balls. England at one point in time were staring at a defeat with the score reading 114 for eight. Buttler added 81 with Adil Rashid, who scored valuable 20 before being dismissed in the 46th over. Buttler then handled the situation well and helped England cross the line. Australian Captain Tim Paine to Retire From ODIs? Aaron Finch Likely to Take Over.

Asked to rate Buttler, Paine, who himself is a stumper said: "He's good, he's very good. Right now, he'd have to be the best white-ball wicket-keeper batsman in the world. I don't think there are too many guys to challenge him. MS Dhoni is pretty good, but at this moment, Jos is at the absolute peak of his powers,” Paine said.

"He understands his one-day game so well and knows his strengths inside out and just doesn't go away from him," the Australian captain added.

Meanwhile, Buttler ended the series with 275 runs, which included three unbeaten knocks of 91, 54 and 110. England will now face Australia in one-off T20I before facing India in a three-match series. (Inputs from IANS).
