Opener Jason Roy top-scored with 89 runs from 46 deliveries as England rode to a comfortable nine-wicket victory over Afghanistan in their final practice match ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019 opener.

Jason Roy top scored with 89 runs from 46 deliveries as England beat Afghanistan by nine wickets. Roy scored the final runs, hitting Afghanistan skipper Gulbadin Naib for a six over mid-on to complete the chase.

England saw their pacers being hit for few sixes by Nabi and Dawlat Zadran, therefore decided to introduce Archer into the attack. He finally ended Afghan inning and broke the 11th wicket partnership between Dawlat and Nabi. Bairstow took a brilliant catch at the deep-third man to end Mohammad Nabi's inning of 44 runs.
